Butterfly Tour to Morocco
morocco-butterflyMorocco is a unique country. It caters an exotic – sometimes even medieval – setting. Morocco has a variety of scenery and climate unrivalled by other Mediterranean countries.

The High Atlas Mountains are a beautiful chain that stands as high as the Alps and stretches for 700 kilometers across Morocco. Here you may expect to observe many of the butterfly species special to Morocco including the endemic Moroccan Meadow Brown, Moroccan Copper and Vaucher’s` Heath, as well as other North African endemic species such as Giant Grayling, Dark Giant Grayling and Moroccan Hairstreak, together with many localized sub-species, amongst them Moroccan High Brown Fritillary, Green-veined White, and Martin’s Blue. Many endemic and localized bird species such as Moussier’s Redstart, Levaillant’s Green Woodpecker, Tristram’s Warbler, Seebohm’s Wheatear and Crimson-winged Finch inhabit in the High Atlas.
During a butterfly tour you may encounter around 45 butterfly species including many of the specialty butterflies.

Morocco boasts of the reliability of the most essential ingredient in any butterfly trip - the sunshine and the weather.

Bear in mind that some of the High Atlas trails are rather narrow (though never on precipitous ground) and almost all are quite rocky, so this holiday is not ideal for those who either do not like walking, or who are unsteady on their feet.
