Mauritius is an independent island republic with a democratic government. It lies in the Indian Ocean to the east of Madagascar. The capital city is Port Louis. The official languages are English and French but usually people speak Mauritian Creole. Although it is rather small if compared with other countries, Mauritius is a giant in terms of economic growth and political stability.
You need a valid passport and a return ticket to enter the country.
Most countries nationals do not require a visa, but if you doubt, contact any Mauritian Embassy. And you need to state where you will be staying upon arrival.
No vaccination is required. But if you would have visited some infected area before landing then a yellow fever vaccination would be required.
If you like to use any vehicle, you will need a valid license or international license. Driving is on the left with right of way to the right. The road network is in very good condition although sometimes overloaded during peak hours. Vehicle hire is affordable as well as public transport.
The local currency is the Mauritian Rupee and cents. Make sure to check the exchange rate.
