The cradle of civilization, Egypt, charms every traveler with its culture and heritage dating back to more than fifty centuries. There is more to this country than merely the pharaohs, the great pyramids, the mummies and the mighty Nile. The capital is Cairo, the currency is the Egyptian pound, and languages spoken include Arabic (the official language), but English and French is also widely spoken. Egyptian summers are hot and dry while the fall and winter seasons are moderate and the spring season windy. Some rain may fall along the coast.
