Passport should be valid for six months beyond date of departure required by all.


Visas

They are required by all excluding transit passengers not landing and continuing their journey by the same aircraft or ship.

Types of visa and cost
Entry (visa de séjour); Tourist (visa de tourisme); Business (visa d’affaires); Transit (visa de transit). All visas cost US$59

Validity
The visa validity may last from one day to three months. A prolongation may be granted in Djibouti on request to the Headquarters of the Police Nationale.

You may send your application to the Embassy in Paris. 10-day transit visas can be issued on entry to visitors producing confirmed return air tickets. A fee will be charged. Such service is possible only to nationals from countries where Djibouti has no diplomatic representation. Contact the Embassy in Paris for further information.

Application requirements are as following:
1) Valid passport.
2) Two application forms completed in French.
3) Two passport-size photos.
4) Fee of &Euro;50 plus &Euro;5 to cover postage within France or &Euro;6 to cover postage from abroad; the amount should be sent in the form of a postal or money order, not a cheque.
5) Return or onward ticket.
Business: 1-5 and, 6) Letter from the employer or a letter of invitation from the company in Djibouti.

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travelers over one year of age coming from infected areas. A cholera vaccination certificate is no longer a condition of entry to Djibouti
Immunization against typhoid is usually recommended. Malaria risk exists throughout the year in the whole country. Mefloquine, doxycycline or atovaquone/proguanil are recommended.

Djibouti Weather Conditions
Extremely hot and especially dry between June and August when the dusty wind blows from the desert. Between October and April it is somewhat cooler with infrequent light rain; however, there is generally less than 150mm of rainfall annually.
