Algeria’s National Parks include a variety of ecosystems, from coastal areas, to desert and mountain.
Tassili n’Ajjer National Park in Algeria includes a big part of the Tassili n’Ajjer mountain range. Here you may discover a variety of natural wonders in this Algerian National Park. The sandstone structure of the mountain range has resulted in a variety of rock arches and other landforms all step by step carved out by erosion. Sandstone has also contributed to the area’s ability to preserve larger amounts of plant life as it holds water well. Vegetation in the Tassili n’Ajjer National Park is mostly woodland made up of endemic, endangered plant species, namely Saharan Myrtle and Saharan Cypress.
